Hey there! My name is Morayo (first name pronounced MOW-RAH-YAW), but most people call me Mo. I’m a fun-loving and incredibly amusing Rhode Island wedding photographer. I photograph weddings regionally in New England, and I aim to photograph weddings all around the world.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, raised in Lagos, Nigeria, and returning to the States in my late teens, I’ve enjoyed the luxury of living in a world that swirled with different cultures and perspectives. While growing up around people who spoke multiple foreign languages, my uncle, a professional photographer, taught me the universal language of photography. He gave me my first film camera and made the first picture I ever fell in love with - a backlit photo of me at ten that made me feel magical.
I’ve experienced many life moments in my journey to becoming a professional photographer, making me a more empathetic observer behind the lens. For example, I left my family behind in Nigeria at the age of 18 to attend college in the US on my own. There was the moment I joined the military without telling my family. A crazy impulsive move drew the ire of my parents, but it’s where I met my husband and the father of my children, so I think I came out ahead there!
