Alpine Country Club Wedding
Jumping the Broom in Cranston, RI
After putting off their wedding for a year, Trey and Massa were finally married at the Alpine Country Club in Cranston, RI. They were surrounded by friends and family in a world in which quarantine measures were finally lifted. So there was singing, dancing, hugging and much jubilation at these two finally had the chance to say their “I do”s.
I met Massa at a bridal fair in 2018 and photographed her engagement session in Bristol, RI in the summer of 2019. Having worked with the two of them, I knew that this day was going to be a fun one. Trey was incredibly goofy, and Massa was so exaggerated with him, that it wasn’t difficult to capture the essence of their relationship at all. Massa and Trey’s wedding ceremony took place in the brand new ceremony patio at the country club. This new space is beautiful and incredibly convenient! Having photographed a wedding at the Alpine before, I was expecting to be working in their garden ceremony site, which is a short golf cart ride away from the banquet facility. While that location is usually lovely and beautifully manicured, I definitely appreciated being able to just walk right outside for the ceremony this time around.
In spite of the rain in the forecast and the ominous clouds overhead, this lovely couple was able to get married outside. Their ceremony had a reading from Trey’s aunt and original poetry from their friend that brought everyone to tears and laughter. I was able to move around the ceremony site with ease and capture the expressions of not just the couple but those of their guests as well. Which was a great thing, because there were so many beaming faces to see. After their ceremony, there was a raucous wedding reception that had amongst other things, a Liberian March.
