An Intimate Providence City Hall Wedding With Just Their Best Friends
Some weddings are big productions. This one wasn't, and that was the whole point. As a Providence City Hall wedding photographer, this is my favorite kind of day to shoot. Just the two of them, their best friends, and one ridiculously gorgeous room in the middle of downtown Providence. No 200-guest seating chart. No inviting your mom's coworker. Just the people who actually matter, in a building most couples walk right past without realizing they could get married there. Here's how their day came together.
Here's the thing about this one. This couple found me last minute, which usually sends photographers into a panic. Not me. Some of my favorite weddings are the ones that come together fast, where nobody's been overthinking it for eighteen months.
I had 90 minutes with them. That's it. Ninety minutes to capture a first look, a ceremony, and the kind of portraits you actually want on your wall. And honestly? That's plenty when a couple is just there to marry the person they love and have a good time doing it.
The first look was my favorite part. There's something about that moment before anyone's "performing" for a camera, when it's just the two of them and the nerves and the grin that takes over. That's the good stuff. That's what I'm always chasing.
There’s a gallery of more than a hundred images to relive the whole thing. Not bad for an hour and a half in downtown Providence.
